We are generating plans for replacing the old facility with a new building for growing community access to care. We are creating a professional Behavior and Training Department for shel- ter animals and community pets who need additional support. We will be growing the Humane Education department to serve more families in our community. Our goal is to be the destination facility for animal adoption and supportive program- ming for people and their pets, ensuring a healthy community for all. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES e ARLGP hosts and participates in multiple community events and hosts three signature events annually. f Fur Ball, the Party of the Year: Held in June, this event is our largest fun- draiser to support our life-saving services. is celebration raises much- needed revenue to support animals in our care through our peak season. f Ales for Tails, a dog-friendly brew fest: is event celebrates humans and canines in our community at ompson's Point in late August. f Holiday Open House kicks the holiday season off with tails wagging. Held in early December, this event features handmade items from local artisans, Maine Christmas trees and wreaths. Corporate support and community engagement are critical to the success of our events and fundraisers. Please visit www.arlgp.org for a full list of upcom- ing events and community activities. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES f Corporate sponsorships of ARLGP events are available. Local businesses have the opportunity to give back to the community and receive high-visi- bility and community engagement. f The Humanitarians Monthly Giving Club enables supporters to join the ARLGP by making an easy recurring gift every month. f The ARLGP Legacy League is a special group of individuals who designate the ARLGP in their estate plans and planned gifts and will continue to help homeless pets far into the future. f Direct-mail appeals as well as giving opportunities online and in-person directly support the care of 5,000 homeless and displaced pets every year. f Cage sponsorship provides community members an opportunity to name an animal enclosure at the ARLGP. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES In 2017, more than 500 community members donated their time to support the ARLGP. f Our Shelter Helpers team has over 350 regular volunteers who assist with our daily animal care activities such as dog walking, cage cleaning, grooming, socializing and feeding. Volunteers are always needed in this capacity. f Our Foster Care Network is always in need of caring and devoted families able to provide animals a temporary home for rest, recuperation, medical care and socialization. f Our Group/Corporate Volunteer Program welcomes volunteers from doz- ens of local businesses, schools and organizations to spend a day assisting with larger, hands-on projects at our facility while collaborating and team building with colleagues.
