Strategy #1: Address legislative challenges and opportunities by fostering positive relationships with appointed and elected public officials and other key leaders, partners and volunteers. Strategy #2: Communicate Y priorities and program impacts—both inter- nally and externally—with a unified message representing the collective strength and impact of Ys in Maine. Organizational Impact 2: e Alliance supports local Ys in leveraging collec- tive impact to address diverse needs and critical social issues relevant for com- munities in the state of Maine. Strategy #3: Support local Ys in implementing best practices and evidence- based programs that measure impact. Strategy #4: Access statewide and regional resources and leverage key rela- tionships to address strategic priorities. Organizational Impact 3: e Alliance fosters collaborative and cooperative relationships among YMCAs and other organizations. Strategy #5: Provide educational opportunities that support and strengthen networks for all staff and volunteers, including a focus on shared services. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES e Y holds many fundraising events throughout Maine to raise money in support of our cause. Some events include: Annual Support Campaign, auctions, Island Arts Night, Stackhouse Send A Kid to Camp Event, Holiday Bazaar, triathlons, road races, Zombie Run, Kayak Race, tennis tournaments, Lobster Races, Peaks to Portland Swim, golf tournaments and Stepping Out for Seniors Charity Walk. In neighborhoods across the state and nation we have the presence and partnerships to deliver long lasting personal and social change.
