"The coolest thing about my job is watching an item take
shape throughout the manufacturing process. We create
our own finished products starting from raw material (mostly flat
sheet metal). I am responsible for coordinating the cutting, braking
(bending) and welding of the metal, which once complete, is
delivered to the line for assembly. We use robotics, machinery and the
human touch to create an individual part. Combine those with a lot of
teamwork and we have the world's best fryers that you see today."
My advice for someone who is looking to start a career in
manufacturing is to keep an open mind and jump at every
opportunity. If you are new to the industry, manufacturing can be a
great career choice as there are many different avenues to explore.
Assembly, robotics, welding and leadership roles to name a few. We
tend to reward our employees who work hard by placing them into
roles with more responsibility, ultimately providing an opportunity
for advancement and promotion. No matter where you go in
manufacturing there will always be more to learn."
