N e w H a m p s h i r e , 2 0 1 8 • S T U F F 57 Position: Production Technician II Age: 35 School: Bachelor's degree in French and history from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. Years at Company: 1 1 / 2 Christopher Hamilton Dimatix inkjet printheads are recognized the world over for their ability to deliver sustainable jet ink and many other fluids at high frequencies without trading off drop placement accuracy. At Fujifilm INNOVATION and PEOPLE matter. Another day, another employee-led class at our on-site fitness center. Dimatix employees work hard and play hard. What is the coolest thing about your job? "Collaborating with our various departments as part of the STEM internship. The experience has given me a more complete picture of what it truly takes to run a man- ufacturing company. Success requires talented individuals and teams, all working together to get the job done." How did you find your current position with the company? "I began working at FUJIFILM Dimatix on the production floor. Currently, I work in the Final Acceptance test area where we test each printhead before it is sent to our customers. I am also a certified trainer and regularly help train new associates. When I heard about the effort to collaborate with another local com- pany and two high schools on a STEM internship, I volunteered to help out. I remember thinking that it was such an innovative way to approach vocational learning and knew immediately that I wanted to be part of the program. Since then, I have become the academic coordinator and wake up every day excited to roll up my sleeves and make things happen." What advice do you have for those who might be consid- ering work in the manufacturing industry based on your own experience? "I would tell them to always aim high. There are many compa- nies, like FUJIFILM Dimatix, that have education reimbursement programs for associates. I truly believe they are the greatest tool for career advancement. With the right initiative and hard work, the sky's the limit."
