The success of our work comes in large part from the collaborative relationships we develop with our clients and our hard-working employees. As one of the world's largest needlepunch-based manufacturers, we have the expertise and experience to support customers' needs across virtually all applications and markets. Our Eco-fi fiber can go into any textile product such as clothing, blankets, carpet, wall covering, auto interiors, and craft felt. Our Fosshield fiber is a revolutionary new antimicrobial patented technology that inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold, mildew and fungus on a variety of treated fabrics with long-lasting protection. FPM makes colored fibers for a variety of industries, including the automotive, marine and indoor/outdoor furniture markets. Our products such as seat trim, head and trunk liners, and floor carpet can be found in most domestic vehicles; car wash products; face masks and filtration products as well as craft felt in stores like Joann Fabric and Michaels. At our facility, we regularly have entry-level line assistant positions open as well as needs for Fabric Machine Operators, Extruder Operators, Material Handlers, Industrial Electrician and Maintenance Mechanic. We offer both day and night shift schedules. Approximately 80 percent of our management team started their careers here as production employees. We are willing to train those who express an interest in joining our manufacturing environment team and have a high level of commitment to working safely. At FPM, we believe in ZAC (Zero Accident Culture), a safety initiative to help keep all our employees safe from injury. We offer competitive benefits including medical, dental/vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), vacation, sick, personal days and union seniority. Our unique 12-hour schedules gives employees three days off one week then four days off the next. Basically working only 182 days out of 365 days/year. FPM donates to local schools and organization looking for products to help with such things as plays or holiday floats. We participate in local high school career days, to help to get the word out about all the manufacturing industry has to offer. We participate in the Extended Learning Opportunity program and have been featured in television shows such as the Secret Life of Garbage on CNBC. We encourage our employees to recycle plastics bottles both on-site and in their own communities. My advice to anyone considering a career in manufacturing would be "don't rule it out." I never expected to be working in this type of environment as a Quality Technician but I love it. Make sure you remember to look at all of your options in the manufacturing industry. Not only does it have the production aspect but there are careers in human resources, customer service, finance, engineering, maintenance and the quality-assurance field, as well." Position: Quality Technician Age: 19 School: Winnacunnet High School; Great Bay Community College Years at Company: 1 year Thomas Miller Through our manufacturing process, we keep billions of plastics PET bottles out of landfills each year by using recycled PET instead of virgin materials. By doing this we can lower harmful air emissions, save millions of barrels of oil from being used which, in turn, reduces the harmful effects of acid rain, global warming and smog. William Cummings
