www.HartfordBusiness.com • September 17, 2018 • Hartford Business Journal 9 We gain inspiration from and hold immense gratitude for gifts of all sizes, as they help sustain, expand and improve the services Saint Francis provides our communities. In order to help us ensure local students began this school year with condence and joy, Berkshire Bank employees from both Connecticut and Massachusetts, along with the Tunxis Community College Student Government Association raised money to purchase backpacks and school items which they donated to the Greater Hartford Child Advocacy Center at Saint Francis. Our gratitude continues for the businesses we have built long standing relationships with and for those who, year after year, raise the bar through the impact they have on the communities to which we mutually serve. Our long time relationship with Hartford's own Travelers was reinforced this past summer during the 2018 Travelers Championships, where we were not only presenting sponsors, but once again recognized as one of the Tournament's top corporate volunteer organizations. For the ninth consecutive year we hosted the Patriots' Outpost, a complimentary, climate controlled hospitality venue that offered free food and beverages to reserve and retired Military Service members and United States veterans. Additionally, for the 20th year in a row we provided free, on-course medical attention to players, fans, and tournament volunteers. We have great pride in the long list of valued businesses we are honored to call partners. With that list comes an immense amount of appreciation. We are consistently inspired by their willingness to support the Saint Francis mission, and allow us to grow our network of modern facilities, increasing patients' access to state-of-the-art technology and compassionate care throughout the state. It is relationships like these that make us proud to enrich, improve, and ultimately heal the communities in which we serve. stfranciscare.org Partners in Caring Valued Generosity The mark of a strong partnership is when each member of the relationship continues to feel inspired by one another. Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center could not do the exemplary work we pride ourselves on without our business partnerships. The unwavering support we receive from local and regional businesses is critical to allowing us to uphold our mission and consistently inspires our work. Over the years, through the generosity of local businesses, Saint Francis has been able to continue our compassionate care, superior technology, prevention-oriented education and clinical excellence. Businesses sharing Saint Francis' century long history in Connecticut's capital city, like The Hartford Insurance, generously contribute to our mission. In recent years the well-known insurance company became a key player in allowing us to further enhance our Karl J. Krapek, Sr. Comprehensive Women's Health Center, an innovative facility within Saint Francis Hospital where women benet from a full range of diagnostic and treatment services. We have deep gratitude for all of our business partners, many of whom continually go above and beyond a onetime contribution to our mission. Just this summer, United Technologies Corporation (UTC), continued their ongoing support by making a signicant contribution to support our Hope & Healing Campaign, a $30 million effort to transform cancer care in our region. Ongoing contributions, like those from UTC, have helped Saint Francis expand our Eneld Cancer Center to include radiation therapy. Their gift is also aiding in the creation of an infusion suite in our Glastonbury access center. The level of support we receive from UTC allows us to provide treatment in the community where our patients live and work, making their path to wellness less burdened. High level donations to our Hope & Healing Campaign have also come in from Connecticut's own Stanley Black & Decker. Their recent generosity to Saint Francis allowed for the renovation of our inpatient oncology oor, allowing the unit to enhance their welcome center, a place where patients and families are rst met by their care team. A warm welcome at the unit's initial point of entry is a critical step in providing the level of compassionate care we excel in and is an important factor in guiding our patients' along their journey to healing.
