Eversource gives out free lamps to UConn freshmen For the fourth consecutive year, Eversource partnered with the University of Connecticut to provide 3,800 free LED desk lamps to incoming freshmen and undergraduate students. The bulbs in the new LED desk lamps use up to 90 percent less electricity, produce five times less carbon dioxide and last up to 25 times longer than incandescent light bulbs. REALTORS' benefit raises money for Coalition on Housing and Homelessness The Greater Hartford Association of REALTORS recently held a fundraiser for the Coalition on Housing and Homelessness. The event raised over $3,300, which will support a network of service providers that work together to streamline and standardize the process for homeless individuals and families to seek housing. Geno Auriemma's charity golf tournament announces new donation Geno Auriemma's Fore the Kids Charity Golf Tournament announced a $200,000 donation to Connecticut Children's Medical Center's new Infusion and Dialysis Centers and the Division of Orthopedics. The next annual tournament will be held at the Hartford Golf Club on June 24, 2019.
