Farmington Bank employees volunteer
at E. Hartford elementary school
Dozens of Farmington Bank employees recently taught
the fundamentals of work readiness, entrepreneurship and
financial literacy to students in 18 classrooms at Mayberry
Elementary School as part of Junior Achievement's JA
In A Day program. Using curricula developed by Junior
Achievement, the Farmington Bank volunteers used
interactive lesson plans to generate students' interest
and participation. Pictured (from left) are: Sarah-Lee
Alexis, personal banker at Farmington Bank's Plainville
branch office; and Dennis Ibarguen, personal banker at
Farmington Bank's Rocky Hill branch office.
ConnectiCare employees
assist local nonprofits
Volunteers from ConnectiCare's
Good Deeds program recently
gathered at the ConnectiCare Center
in Manchester to discuss their
shared experience of participating
in the new initiative led by the
Farmington-based health insurer. In
partnership with Leadership Greater
Hartford, the Good Deeds program
allows ConnectiCare members and
employees to donate their time to
help local nonprofits.
LEGO supports all-girls
summer program
Thanks to LEGO's partnership, the
all-girl Horizons at The Ethel Walker
School summer program in Simsbury
expanded its program to pre-K,
increasing enrollment to 85 students.
The program enables young girls to
gain skills, confidence and motivation
to realize their potential and strive
for academic success. Last fall,
the LEGO Community Fund U.S.
allocated $100,000 to the program,
and is continuing its support by
awarding $100,000 for 2019.
