Earthly endeavors
EARTH Limited, the nonprofit based at Southwick's Zoo in Mendon, raised more than
$45,000 at its 13th Annual Benefit EARTH Bash. The group offers environmental education
programs such as a Junior Zookeeping initiative and docent and intern training. At the
event, Boston comic Tony V. entertained the crowd.
Bemis center wins bronze
Gardner's Mount Wachusett Community College was awarded a Bronze Citation for the
American School & University Educational Interiors Showcase for its 4,500-square-foot
Bemis Student Center. The center was partially funded by Bemis Corp., a manufacturer
based in Shirley.
