Buchetto will represent and defend businesses and individuals in premises liability, automotive, subrogation, property damage, and products liability matters. Karen Higgins- Carter has joined Webster Bank in Waterbury as its executive vice president and chief information officer. In her new position, Higgins- Carter will be responsible for information technology, including infrastructure technology, information, business solutions and applications development. She previously was managing director and head of the office of the chief information and operations officer for the Americas at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. Carter Johnson was promoted to senior vice president at Global Strategy Group. Johnson has worked to grow the public relations firm's client relationships, particularly in the areas of gaming, utilities and health care. Key Private Bank, a Hartford-based private bank for affluent individuals and families, made three recent hires: Daryl L. Gordon was brought on as a fiduciary strategist, Luciano Verdura Jr. will serve as senior relationship manager and Carlos Salmon was hired as a wealth advisor. Bryan D. Zerhusen has been named partner at Cantor Colburn LLP's headquarters in Hartford. Zerhusen, a patent attorney who assists clients with licensing, will head up the firm's life sciences practice. Garrett P. Cronin has joined medical professional liability insurance company CMIC Group as director of underwriting. Cronin previously worked at Chubb Corp. as a national underwriting manager within the company's Chubb Specialty Business division. Sandra Ward was appointed director of grants at Goodwin College's Office of Institutional Advancement. Ward has spent 25 years working as an executive manager within nonprofit and public-sector environments. Kenneth B. Lerman was elected vice chairman of the Connecticut Bar Association's business law section. Lerman currently runs Law offices of Kenneth B. Lerman P.C., which has offices in Hartford and Boca Raton, Florida. He specializes in business, securities, corporate, contracts and commercial real estate law. Paul Dominov was promoted to principal at architectural firm Kaestle Boos Associates Inc. Dominov is a Farmington resident who has played a major role in designing architectural projects throughout the area. Mary Snow was hired at Quinnipiac University Poll as a polling analyst. Snow, a veteran journalist, has worked for news outlets including CNN, CNNfn, Bloomberg Television News, ABC News and WPIX-TV 11. Tracy I. McKaveney has been elected to the board of directors at Hospital for Special Care in New Britain. She was also appointed to the board's external audit committee and finance committee. McKaveney is a certified public accountant and senior manager at MahoneySabol, an accounting firm headquartered in Hartford. Joseph J. Taborsak has joined Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Company (CATIC) in Rocky Hill as claims counsel. Taborsak will handle title claims filed under CATIC title insurance policies. He has been in private practice since 2003, focused on banking, real estate and litigation. VeraCore Software Solutions Inc., a specialty software company in Rocky Hill, hired Tim Beckwith as its director of finance. Beckwith has 10 years of experience in the field, and most recently worked as controller at Jade Marketing Group LLC in West Hartford, where he gained insight into warehouse operations.
