Poland Spring selects Lincoln for water source Poland Spring has signed a contract with the Lincoln Water District to buy water from the town's Bella Luna spring. e Bangor Daily News reported the water will be distributed by tanker to Poland Spring bottling plants. e selection involved exploration, detailed testing to meet government regulations and con- struction of a load station. In May 2017, Lincoln Water District Superintendent Jeff Day told Maine Public that the dis- trict could easily support Poland Spring, noting that the shuttered Lincoln Paper and Tissue LLC paper mill, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protec- tion in September 2015, had used 175 million gallons of water annually for decades. Nestlé-owned Poland Spring also explored locations in Chester, Fryeburg, Greenbush, Howland, Passadumkeag and Rumford. Brewhouse opens in Union e Pour Farm, a three-barrel brew- house, has opened for business in Union. e brewery is at 56 Crawfordsburn Lane, off Route 131.
