Jennifer Cavalari, a hospitalist at Houlton Regional Hospital, was selected as the Maine Hospital Association's "Caregiver of the Year." Amy Dieterich, an attorney at Skelton Taintor & Abbott in Auburn, lectured at an Advanced Family Law Seminar in Portland about effectively litigating issues of contempt in family law cases. Dieterich's practice areas at the firm include employment law, family law, commercial litigation, municipal law and appeals. Waynflete, a private school in Portland, presented its "2018 Drake Award," cre- ated to honor individuals who inspire others to support the school and its mission and who have given years of outstanding service to the school, to Sara Crisp and Gregg Lipton. e two have been involved at the school in various capaci- ties for 30 years and recently served as co- chairs of the school's capital campaign. e New England Fellowship of Agricultural Adventurers presented Crane Brothers Farms in Exeter with the "2018 Agricultural Adventurers Award." e award was presented to the four-generation enterprise known throughout the Northeast for its large-scale, state-of-the-art potato and grain production and for the contributions Crane family members continue to make to agriculture and the public sphere at the community, regional and national levels. Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick was named "Best Library in Maine" in Down East magazine's annual "Best of Maine" issue. The Cod Cove Inn in Edgecomb was named recipient of the TripAdvisor "Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame Award" for earning the certifi- cate for five consecutive years. Nancy Howland was named the "2018 Elizabeth Fritz orndike Award" winner, a biennial award managed by the Maine Community Foundation in Ellsworth. e award honors an individual who has made outstanding contributions to community service on Mount Desert Island. Howland is a retired executive director of the Jesup Memorial Library in Bar Harbor and has since volunteered for numer- ous organizations. Joan Fortin, shareholder, director of attorney recruiting and retention and a member of the board of directors at Bernstein Shur in Portland, spoke at DisruptHR Portland, ME 1.0 held at Cloudport CoWorking MultiSpace. Fortin's presentation was titled "e Myth of Meritocracy: Leadership on Gender in the Wake of #MeToo and Time's Up." Knickerbocker Group in Boothbay was named "Best Architect" and "Best Builder/General Contractor" in Down East magazine's annual "Best of Maine" issue. Allen Insurance and Financial in Cam- den announced Karen Reed earned the designation of Certified Profes- sional Insurance Agent from the American Insurance Marketing and Sales Society; Chris Richmond earned the designation of Certified Ma- rine Insurance Professional from the International Institute for Marine Insurance Studies; Meesha Bodman earned the Safeco Insurance Award of Excellence; Libby Davis earned the professional designation of Certified Professional Insurance Agent; and Holly Shields, a member of the per- sonal insurance team at L.S. Robinson Co. insurance, a division of the firm, earned the designation of Certified Professional Insurance Agent, a pro- fessional designation conferred by the American Insurance Marketing and Sales Society.
