Katy Rand, Partner at Pierce Atwood, brings hands-
on experience to her practice having worked in human
resources and management in the private sector. Her
client work primarily involves employment law, with a
focus on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and
wage / hour issues. Katy helps employers avoid litiga-
tion, counseling them on compliance and employee relations issues and,
where appropriate, negotiating early resolution of disputes. She also has
an active litigation practice, routinely advocating on behalf of employ-
ers in state and federal court, as well as before administrative agencies
such as the Maine Human Rights Commission and Department of Labor.

LiveandWorkinMaine LLC, an initiative to increase
awareness of career opportunities in Maine. The website
and related efforts are focused on keeping young people
in Maine, and marketing Maine as a career destination
to job seekers around the globe – and to those already
in the State. The website was launched in November 2105. He is also
the Founder and President of Pro Search, Inc., a staffi ng and recruiting
fi rm. Established in 1994 in Portland, the fi rm is now the largest locally
owned fi rm of its kind in the State of Maine.
