wbjournal.com | July 23, 2018 | Worcester Business Journal 5 B R I E FS Front Street apartments completed; 26% leased Final construction has been complet- ed on the 145 Front at City Square de- velopment in downtown Worcester, with about one-fourth of apartment units under lease agreements, the contractor announced in July. e development, which started leasing in February, has leased 97 of 368 apartments. e Front Street develop- ment marks a key point in the transi- tion of downtown Worcester from the former Galleria mall site to a neighbor- hood where city leaders hope to create vibrant streets lined with people who work, live, shop or dine there. e two apartment buildings are the first newly built residential development in down- town Worcester in decades. e first 240 units opened in February on the Front Street side of the develop- ment, and another 128 on the Franklin Street side this spring. e $90-million project was built by Erland Construc- tion of Burlington and developed and managed by Roseland Property Co. of Malden. With luxury features that aren't as typical in Worcester, 145 Front at City Women leadership: All or nothing Worcester insurer Fallon Health – a company whose workforce is 81-percent women – on July 10 announced two new hires into its executive team: Carolyn Langer as chief medical officer and Mary Ritter as senior vice president of strategy and business development. e new hires makes the 10-person Fallon executive team 50-percent women. Rents at 145 Front start at $1,465 for a 491-square-foot studio. One-bedroom units range from $1,535 to $1,950, and two-bedrooms range from $1,950 to $2,490.
