United Way Women United raises money at silent auction United Way Women United raised more than $350,000 at its seventh annual "Power of the Purse" luncheon and silent auction. The event provides annual funding for The Financial Center, providing women and families with the tools to obtain a better job, identify financial goals, develop realistic budgets and build savings. Crowe's Simsbury office participates in day of service Certified public accounting firm Crowe's Simsbury office recently participated in a day of service initiative by volunteering at the Imagine Nation Museum and Early Learning Center in Bristol. Eighteen volunteers built shelves, organized items inside a remote storage facility, pulled weeds on the museum grounds and helped the museum office staff with a thank you letter mailing campaign. Of Note Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology President and CEO Elliot Ginsberg received the Capital Workforce Partners President's Award at CWP's annual meeting on June 15. Ginsberg is retiring from the CWP board after 22 years. Patriots Hall of Famer Bruschi speaks at Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford event New England Patriots Hall of Famer Tedy Bruschi was the guest speaker at The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford's "Boys To Men" event recently held at the Aetna Auditorium in Hartford.
